All the curtains produced by the students on this course will be to a high professional standard. They will include lined curtains, matching difficult pattern designs with the option of various headers. You can make Roman, London, Austrian or festoon blinds. Learn how to make curtain accessories such as pelmets, swags and tails, tie backs in any style to suit your interior designs.

Pattern Cutting
For those who would like to learn the skills to make a pattern that can be used time and time again to make clothes for yourself that fit as they should. A good pattern is the basis of all good garment construction. You will learn how to make your own block patterns and how to adapt them for a skirt, trousers and tops for yourself. Further study will involve creating more detailed designs, for example shirts and jackets.

Ethnic Garment Construction
This special course is for anyone who wants to learn about ethnic garment construction.The course covers the making of traditional Asian or African garments. It will allow you to make an ethnic style wardrobe to suit yourself. You will learn both traditional and modern ways of cutting and making garments that fit.

Develop Your IT Skills
This course is for complete beginners as well as for those who would like to develop their IT skills for personal or professional use. You will be able to learn the skills that interest you at your own pace. The course will include word processing, database, spreadsheets, email and Internet and multimedia applications.

Home Maintenance
Why pay a plumber or carpenter when you can do it yourself? Gain practical skills and feel confident to look after your home and deal with household emergencies; learn to fix a dripping tap, a broken door, put up a shelf or curtain rail, secure your home, learn about electrical safety and much more. The course will give you practical experience using tools and tips on how to find and employ a builder. A good introduction for any woman thinking about working in manual trades.
